5 steps to success in life

A desire to be successful is common to all of us but each person’s definition of success is different. Although it can be achieved, it doesn’t come easy – you have to work for it. Generally, success is about getting what you want in life. Contrary to common beliefs, there are no successful and unsuccessful people, there are just people who use their potential to succeed and those who don’t. If you want to be successful, do what successful people did. Go through the information and quotes bellow and acquire the mentality of a successful person.

1.Think big

As Claude M. Bristol said, “You have to think big to be big.” If you want to think big, you have to have vision and courage to venture. Michelangelo Buonarroti once said that the real danger is not it setting your aim too high and failing to achieve that goal, but in setting the aim too low and achieving it. Another successful person who believes in thinking big is Donald Tramp and he said, “I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.”

2.Find what you love to do

Identify what you love, commit yourself to doing that job as good as you can and let your passion for it motivate you along the way. According to David Frost, you shouldn’t aim for success if you want it. Instead, you should do what you love and believe in and the success will come naturally.

Oprah Winfrey believes that when you find a job you would do without being paid for it, you know you are on the road to success. Or, as Steve Jobs once said, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

3. Do not be afraid of failure.

Henry Ford said, “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” Everyone is afraid of failing, but what is common to all successful people is the ability to accept their fears and not let those fears restrain them. Paulo Coelho believed that only the fear of failure makes a dream impossible to achieve. Also, Coco Channel said, Success is most often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.”

4. Maintain a positive mental attitude.

Thomas Jefferson believed that nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal while nothing can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”  If you want to reach the state of positive mental attitude, you should embrace life and realize that you are in control of your actions. Also, reading and listening to positive information will help you, as well as planning ahead. Using time efficiently helps you achieve and maintain a positive attitude because planning helps you accomplish more in less time.

5. Get into action

Don’t let things just happen to you, be a man of action. As Leonardo da Vinci said, “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” Make use of your qualities and skills and don’t give up if you fail. Be persistent and learn to stand up again even if you fail a couple of times. If you want to be successful, continue working hard until you get what you want. Hard work is essential to success. Whatever you do, do it the best you can; doing your job the best you can is a road to success. Take a look at what Martin Luther King, Jr. had to say on this matter, “If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, go out and sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures. Sweep streets like Handel and Beethoven composed music. Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say, here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.
